United Protestant Church of Silver Bay is a congregation that contributes support to five different denominations. In return, the congregation is given a broader perspective of Christian worship and work. In addition, we support special offerings such as disaster relief, Silver Bay food shelf, One Great Hour of Sharing, Church World Services School Kits Mission, and “The Mitten Tree.” U.P. Church offers the building to community service groups such as NSAP Caregivers, GLAD meetings and special concerts . Throughout the year, we lead and provide support for the following activities:
Health Ministry: health support for the congregation provided by our parish nurse and supporting committee.
House of Love: an ongoing mission partnership with the House of Love in Chang Mai Thailand.
Prayer Shawl Ministry: provides hand crocheted and knitted shawls to those in need of comfort and support.
Chapel services: with other churches in the community, chapel services are conducted for residents at CareFree Assisted living in Silver Bay.
Community Thanksgiving meal: we host a free community Thanksgiving dinner.
Adult Bible Study: Interesting topics centered on the Bible are explored at the Wednesday Bible Study and is open to all of the community.
Ecumenical Services: Services with churches in our community are given during Lent and “Bay Days.”
Fellowship Activities: Fun is encouraged at game nights, picnics, and other special events.
